One of the massive appeals of synthetic turf is the promise of an "instant lawn." You don't have to wait months for seeds to germinate or for sod to root into the Dubai desert sand. It cannot, and should not, be rushed in an afternoon by a couple of untrained laborers.

Before any heavy machinery arrives at your home, several critical administrative and logistical steps must occur. (Timeline: 3 to 7 Days prior to start)
This is the loudest, dustiest, and most labor-intensive day of the entire project.
The team arrives early. Using mechanical excavators or team shovels (depending on access), we remove the top 7cm to 10cm of existing sand, dead grass, and rocks. A massive skip bin is filled with this waste and hauled away for legal municipal disposal.
A heavy-duty, double interwoven geotextile weed membrane is laid across the excavated dirt to prevent deep-rooted desert weeds from ever returning. Next, several tons of Type-1 crushed aggregate stone are wheeled in and spread over the membrane. Finally, a heavy vibrating plate compactor compresses the stone until it is a solid, level, hard-pan foundation. The team uses laser levels to ensure a 1% runoff gradient away from the villa walls.
With the heavy lifting complete, Day 2 is all about meticulous, millimeter-perfect craftsmanship.
The massive rolls of artificial grass are carried into the garden and unrolled over the compacted base. They are left to sit in the Dubai sun for a couple of hours. This "rest period" allows the heavy polyurethane backing to acclimatize, expanding slightly and dropping any wrinkles from storage.
